Data Engineer, Minneapolis, MN

We are looking for a Data Engineer for a direct hire hybrid (2 days on-site, 3 remote) position located in Minneapolis, MN.

Summary:

We are seeking a Data Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data platforms and data integration solutions. This role will focus on building scalable data pipelines, supporting analytics and reporting initiatives, and enabling data-driven decision making across business units. The ideal candidate will have experience working with modern data technologies and cloud-based data environments while collaborating with analytics, application development, and infrastructure teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support data ingestion, transformation, and integration across multiple systems
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ensure reliable and efficient movement of data between source systems and data platforms
• Support the implementation and maintenance of data warehouses, data lakes, or cloud-based data storage solutions
• Collaborate with data analysts, business intelligence teams, and application developers to support reporting and analytics requirements
• Monitor data workflows and troubleshoot data quality, performance, and reliability issues
• Implement data validation, governance, and documentation practices to support enterprise data standards
• Optimize query performance and data processing efficiency within relational and distributed data environments
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term data platform strategy
• Assist in automating data workflows and deployment processes where applicable
• Support testing, deployment, and ongoing operational support of data engineering solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, database development, or data integration roles
• Strong experience designing and developing ETL/ELT solutions using tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or similar technologies
• Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, preferably within Microsoft Azure environments
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and large-scale data processing
• Proficiency with SQL and experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python preferred
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, and security best practices
• Experience supporting business intelligence or analytics initiatives
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional technical and business teams
