Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract) Columbus, OH

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer for a 1-year contract hybrid (2 days on-site, 3 days remote) position located in Columbus, OH.

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support enterprise cloud and application modernization initiatives within a fast-paced contract environment. This role will focus on designing and improving CI/CD pipelines, enhancing cloud infrastructure reliability, and driving automation efforts across development and operations teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience within Microsoft Azure environments and the ability to quickly assess existing systems and implement scalable DevOps solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency and system reliability
• Assess existing infrastructure and deployment processes and recommend modernization and automation improvements
• Support the configuration, deployment, and ongoing management of cloud infrastructure primarily within Microsoft Azure
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep
• Collaborate with development, QA, security, and infrastructure teams to streamline release cycles and improve operational stability
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance issues
• Support containerized environments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes where applicable
• Assist in implementing cloud security best practices including identity management, access controls, and environment hardening
• Provide technical guidance on DevOps standards, automation strategy, and cloud architecture improvements
• Document processes, configurations, and deployment procedures to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure automation roles
• Proven experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms
• Strong hands-on experience working within Microsoft Azure environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Experience supporting containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes preferred
• Understanding of system monitoring, performance tuning, and cloud governance practices
• Ability to work independently in contract-based project environments and quickly adapt to new technical landscapes
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
